    About the Debra Victoria Scholarship

The Debra Victoria Scholarship is a tribute to the enduring legacy of Debra Victoria Thomas-Banks, a strong advocate for education and its transformative power. Debra Victoria, a single mother, tirelessly worked up to eighty hours a week to support her daughter’s education. Tragically, she passed away in 2021 due to ovarian cancer. However, her daughter remains committed to honoring her mother’s memory by offering support to students from single-parent households.

This scholarship’s primary goal is to empower underrepresented students from single-parent households, particularly those of Black, Indigenous, or Person of Color (BIPOC) backgrounds, to overcome financial barriers and successfully complete their undergraduate education.
