What is Donald and Shirley Hastings Scholarship?
The Donald and Shirley Hastings Scholarship is designated for college undergraduate students pursuing a minimum four-year bachelor’s degree in welding engineering (WE) or welding engineering technology (WET). Priority is given to students studying welding engineering (WE). Applicants must intend to enroll in an academic institution within the United States, with particular emphasis on those residing or attending school in Iowa, Ohio, or California. A minimum high school diploma is required for eligibility. Additionally, applicants are encouraged to submit two letters of recommendation to strengthen their application.

- Welder Training Scholarship: For students seeking welder training in a certificate program less than two years in length. Deadline is November 30th.
- Most AWS National, District, and Section Scholarships have a deadline of March 1st. However, a small number of Section and District Named Scholarships have a deadline of May 1st.
