HKBU is open to students from all over the world and takes into consideration all the major international, regional, and national qualifications. HKBU recognizes the special abilities of these students and gives them the opportunity for Direct admission. They also provide 40 majors Covering business, art, Chinese medicine, science, social sciences, communication, and creative arts. Students can apply for online registration.
HKBU has a program named “SETDAS(Students with Exceptional Talent Direct Admissions Scheme)” .this Scheme features as follows:
- students who study for one year and apply for the program
- special talent recognition in the fields of sports, music, creativity, leadership, etc.
- Offer opportunities for direct admissions before the release of public examination results
Admission scholarship is given to students who are selected, including new students who have good academic results, also achievements other than academic and other criteria that are laid out by the University.
The students coming from abroad should have any of the entry permits set by the Director of Immigration of the Hong Kong Government:
- student visa/ entry permit
- Visa under Immigration Arrangements for Foreign Graduates. Dependent Visa, who are 18 years or older when such Visa was granted
- Under the current immigration policy, students from Afghanistan, Cuba, Laos, North Korea(DPRK), and Nepal may not be able to get a student visa to study in Hong Kong.

HKBU Scholarship Requirements
International student’s requirements:
- Diploma from a high school containing one of the following:
- SAT: A minimum score of 1,190 (out of 1,600) in the new SAT
- Advanced Placement (AP): At least two AP topics must be graded at the third level.
- American College Test (ACT): Minimum composite score of 23
- Associate Degree (AD): Successful completion of one year’s study in a full-time AD program at a recognized US university/ community college, provided that the duration of the program should be at least two years in full-time mode.
- Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) at state universities: Successful completion of IGETC with a grade of C or above in all courses.
English language requirements:
TOEFL:
- Internet-based test (iBT) / iBT Starter Edition / iBT Paper Edition – 79; or Paper-delivered exam – 60
- IELTS Academic:
- Overall: 6.0
- SAT: The new SAT necessitates a minimum grade of 590 in Evidence-Based Writing and Reading.
- ACT: A minimum ACT score of 23 is required. Reading and English
- AP: An AP score of 4 or above is required. Language and Composition in English
- Grade C/Grade 4 in English/English Language/English Literature at GCE O-Level/GCSE
- A-Level: AS GCE: scored E- Grade in English
- HKDSE: Level 3 in the English Language
- HKALE: Grade E in Use of English
IB One of the following:
