- Cat Zingano, a renowned MMA fighter, has confronted her fair share of life’s hardships. When she was in her early twenties and attending college, her mother received a devastating diagnosis of stage 4 brain cancer. Her mother’s deteriorating health took an immense emotional toll on Cat’s family. Tragically, her mother passed away in 2005, making it incredibly challenging for Cat to concentrate on her education.
- Less than a year later, Cat became a mother herself. Juggling the responsibilities of raising a newborn while grappling with the recent loss of her mother was an enormous challenge. Cat needed assistance and support during this tumultuous period, and she remains profoundly appreciative of the resources available to her.
- After completing her education, Cat achieved significant success in her early MMA career. Nonetheless, life had more trials in store for her. In 2014, Cat experienced another heartbreaking loss when her husband, who had been a partner, employer, father, and coach, unexpectedly passed away. This loss irreversibly altered the course of Cat and her son’s lives. They faced daily struggles and had to make profound adjustments to adapt to their new reality.
